4. Jasmine Circle parking problems. Sgt. Igou sent a letter to area residents, explaining the problems and requesting these residents help solve their problems without getting law enforcement involved. One problem is a big RV parked near and intersection, which block oncoming traffic visibility. One solution proposed is a height regulation (8’?) for vehicles parking within a certain number of feet from intersections.

CORRESPONDENCE/INFORMATION:

1. Tim gave a SR2S update. He’s working with a police cadet to count schools traffic in the district. The counts will be performed at all C13j schools except Central High. The tally sheets will show how students get to and leave from our schools; walk, bicycle/skateboard/rollerblade, school bus, or private vehicle. This data is needed for our SR2S grant application, and will also be available for anyone requesting it..

Tim says we have a good chance of getting this grant, as we’re one of the few districts in the state with a SR2S team. Excellent job by Tim.

Tim and Shawn are to attend a ODOT SR2S grant session.

2. Independence Transportation System Plan.

Shawn will update us at the next meeting.

3. City of Independence and the railroad hold regular discussions about RR track/street problems.

Shawn will update us at the next meeting.
